My student-athlete is in 8th/9th grade, is that too early for SportsForce?

The recruiting process starts at a different time for every student-athlete. The earlier the student-athlete can start learning about the college recruiting process, the more informed of a decision they will be able to make. There is never a right time to get started, however, it is never too early to start building a recruiting resume, researching schools, and setting themselves up to be fully prepared when the time is right to start reaching out to colleges.

The SportsForce college search tool allows you to save hours of time, instead of researching individual schools online. Your SportsForce profile saves you from creating multiple versions of student-athlete resumes for different colleges, it gives you one platform to efficiently convey all the necessary information to college coaches at every level.

How to fill out your athletic profile as an 8th/9th grader

While there may not be as much pertinent academic information at this age, a student-athlete can still fill out the basic information, while providing the most recent video so college coaches can start projecting the talent level at that age. The student-athlete should be adding and updating this profile as they develop both academically and athletically in their career, including (but not limited to) grades, videos, stats, and metrics.

Creating a video library in your profile

Video is going to be a crucial part of the recruiting process and a major part of using the SportsForce recruiting platform. The student-athlete should be regularly updating their video library within the profile to ensure that coaches have the most up to date video to evaluate.

Using the college search tool

It is never too early to start looking at colleges. Using the SportsForce platform can allow the student-athlete to search schools by major, price, size, distance from home, and other metrics. This will allow the student-athlete to know which schools they want to reach out to and put on their target list. While 8th/9th grade is too early to take official visits, student-athletes can take unofficial visits or tours of campuses to get a feel for what different types of schools are like.
