I am getting emails and letters from college coaches does that mean I am getting recruiting interest?

Most college athletic programs have a large email database to market their program, camps, and university. Often college coaches will begin sending emails to student-athletes as early as the 7th/8th grade and consistently email you throughout your high school years. If the email has an unsubscribe button at the bottom of the email you can assume it was sent to you and a very large amount of student-athletes. For the recruiting interest to be considered real and legitimate interest it must be personalized. This is not always easy to know.
